As early as 1984, it pioneered the introduction of the prestigious CIDESCO international qualification system, training countless industry professionals in Hong Kong and Southeast Asia. The academy serves as an assessment center for various international beauty and hairdressing qualifications, hosting examinations such as CIDESCO, ITEC, CIBTAC, CITY & GUILDS, IPCA, S.R.H., and China’s National Labor Bureau tests, encouraging students to obtain professional certifications.
CMM Monita Academy actively expands its international influence. In addition to its Hong Kong headquarters, it has established multiple branches in mainland China, including Beijing, Dalian, Shenzhen, and Baoding. Professor Cheng Ming-ming, the founder of CMM Monita Academy, previously served as the Chairperson of the Vocational Training Council’s Beauty and Hairdressing Training Committee and the Education Bureau’s Beauty Industry Training Advisory Committee, significantly contributing to industry development through policy advocacy and initiatives. The academy actively participates in key development projects, such as skills enhancement courses and assessments organized by the Education Bureau and Vocational Training Council. Our instructors regularly contribute to project planning and advisory roles, as well as the promotion of continuing education programs and assessments, earning widespread recognition.
The current principal, Ms. Sindy Chan, also serves as an industry consultant for the beauty care sector at the Vocational Training Council’s IVDC Professional Development Centre, as well as the President of CIDESCO Section China (Hong Kong) and an international CIDESCO examiner.
Several of CMM Monita Academy’s courses are accredited under the government’s Qualifications Framework (QF), ensuring high-quality education and helping students establish clear learning and career goals. These courses enhance personal competence and competitiveness with recognized qualifications. Eligible students can apply for the Continuing Education Fund (CEF), which reimburses 80% of course fees for the first HK$10,000 and 60% for the remaining HK$15,000, up to a maximum subsidy of HK$25,000. Additionally, these courses qualify for the Extended Non-means-tested Loan Scheme (ENLS).
