International Laser and Intense Pulsed Light Treatments Diploma Course (Level 4)

Course fee: HKD17,900

Hours of training: 100 hours (including lectures, assignment, practice, self-study, pre-exam and exam)

 

Includes:

  1. Fees for handouts, worksheets, assignments, manuals, school’s internal evaluation and school’s internal certificates;
  2. Provide professional pulsed light equipment for school internal examination and outside examinations, and provide special beauty products for pulsed light equipment;
  3. Independent Cosmetic Light Therapy practice room, and conduct ITEC/CIBTAC external examination within school premise, without the need to transfer to other venues;
  4. Provide Cosmetic Light Therapy equipment for the students to use in the examination without any additional fees;
  5. Supply “professional Cosmetic Light Therapy eye protection goggles” (one pair per candidate and model);
  6. Provide ITEC mock exam simulation and practice to strengthen students’ confidence;
  7. Provide ITEC mock written exam to give students early preparation;
  8. Practice Cosmetic Light Therapy hair removal and skin rejuvenation treatment in class, and complete 10 assignments;
  9. Guidance, evaluation and review of individual assignments.      

 

Day class: 10:00am – 1:00pm, 2:30pm – 5:30pm

Evening Class: 7:00pm – 10:00pm

Entry Requirements: holder of Certificate in Professional Beauty Treatment (QF Level 2) or above

Exam Criteria: Written and Practical Exams

 

The following international examinations are available upon completion of this course

CMM Diploma in Laser & Intense Pulse Light Treatment Course, Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Equipment Operator, ITEC Diploma in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light Treatments Level 4 (International), Level 3 Certificate in Laser and Light Hair Removal Treatments (CIBTAC), Level 3 Certificate in Laser and Light Skin Rejuvenation Treatments (CIBTAC), Level 4 Certificate in Laser and Light Therapy Treatments (CIBTAC)

 

Exam Frees: All International Examination fees are paid by Students.

A)  Endocrine System

  • Distribution and function of main endocrine glands
  • Diseases caused by endocrine disorders
  • The effect of hormones on the skin and hair growth cycle
  • The effect of stress on endocrine

 

B)  Hair structure and function:

  • Hair types and distribution
  • Hair structure
  • Hair growth cycle suitable for pulse light hair removal
  • Factors affecting hair growth

 

C)  Skin structure and function:

  • Structure and function of epidermis and dermis
  • Understanding of subcutaneous fat and melanin
  • Identify different skin types and conditions
  • Skin Contraindication
  • The function of the skin

 

D)  Basic principles and structure of laser and intense pulsed light instruments:

  • How are IPL produced
  • How does IPL cause physiological effects
  • The effect that can be achieved by IPL
  • How to control infection, including hygiene requirements
  • Application of IPL in beauty treatment

 

E)  Safe Application of laser and IPL equipment for spot removal, skin rejuvenation and hair removal procedures:

  • Causes and types of pigmentation
  • The mechanism and symptoms of skin aging
  • Control of the energy and frequency setting according to the skin condition of the customer
  • Hair follicle growth cycle
  • Safety precaution
  • The effect of each procedure

 

F)  General precautions (part 1):

  • Skin disorder / disease which enable to use of IPL
  • Treatment and effects
  • Situations that need to be referred to a doctor
  • Possible adverse reactions after IPL treatment
  • Situations not suitable for IPL treatment
  • Normal response to IPL treatment
  • Procedures for handling adverse reactions
  • Specific guidelines for different treatment procedures

 

G) General precautions (part  2):

  • Purchase and installation of equipment
  • Maintenance and repair
  • Appointment of on-site safety officer
  • Establish protocol for operating equipment
  • Essential equipment and provisions for operating environment
  • Personal protective gear
  • Training plan

 

H)  Consumer rights:

  • Information that should be provided to consumers, including differences of services, their charges, procedures and conditions unsuitable for treatment, etc.
  • Professional ethics, responsibility and consumer privacy
  • The legal duties of the IPL equipment operator and service venue owe to the consumers
  • Feedback provided by individual consumer
  • Relevant contents in the consent form for IPL treatment
  • Content of advertisements and Undesirable Medical Advertisements Ordinance
  • A valid receipt should be given to consumers
